Oh yes.
I made a note of all the “friends” I had on there (didn’t take very long), and sent this message out to all of them:
Oh yes.
I made a note of all the “friends” I had on there (didn’t take very long), and sent this message out to all of them:
Argh!
I’ve just spent quite a long time, trying to figure out the following problem, and blaming my hosting company and all sorts, before realising this is a STUPID quirk of Gmail. Continue reading Gmail Testing with Other Domains
Recently somebody asked me about online backup systems and file storage. Well what I don’t know about them is …well…pretty much everything. I’ve never used either. Time for a bit of research. To the cloud! Continue reading Online Backups and Storage
A few years ago, I had a personal MySpace page. And I also had a collective-type one, with the other members of BJS Productions.
Well, I’ve been looking at the statistics for BJS recently, and it doesn’t look good.
If you’re in the market for a smart phone these days, there’s a whole heap of phones to choose from. The most popular ones have Apple or Blackberry written on them, or are one of the many running Google’s Android operating system. Here’s 6 reasons why I still love my iPhone, though. Continue reading Why I Still Love the iPhone
I’ve just acquired a 35mm film-based SLR camera (actually three identical models). There was a reel of film in a capsule in the bag, and another one in one of the cameras. What do you do with it though, in 2011? Continue reading Asda Photo Developing
I list photography as an interest, mentally (and sometimes on my CV). Despite this, I don’t really know much about it. I like going somewhere, taking a camera, and taking some pictures, but I have no idea what I’m doing.
I’ve been pondering learning more about photography for a while, but never quite got around to taking a course.
A few years ago, I nearly bought a digital SLR, but then I balked at the cost, lost my nerve, and bought a superzoom bridge camera (Panasonic Lumix FZ8) for half the price.
Not really thinking about what I wanted to take pictures of, I was probably partially won over by the 12x zoom lens. Of course, the first thing I did after I got it, was take pictures of things too far away to see clearly with the naked eye. Continue reading Digital and Film Photography
I’ve been a fool.
You know when you’ve been doing something for so long that you don’t bother to see if there are other options.
On occasion, I’ll record a bit of video from my iPhone. On even rarer occasions, I want to send it immediately from wherever I am.
I have been sending it via Twitvid, but I’ve just discovered today, that you can upload it to YouTube directly from the camera application. And if you click the option to share it afterwards, it’ll give you the URL, so you can copy/paste it to Twitter.
Last night’s episode of The Gadget Show featured Jason Bradbury and Suzi Perry trying to present the show, while not AT the studio.
In the case of Suzi, she had a virtual avatar of herself made, then overlayed on the screen. She looked a bit odd, but it worked ok.
Jason attempted a robot of himself. From the neck up, it was scarily life-like while motionless, but moved in a manner that made it obvious he wasn’t human.
Don’t get me wrong. I like robots. They’re pretty cool. The idea of having a device that can tidy your house, mow your lawn, or even drive to work for you – all pretty cool.
Fair play to Nokia.

Yeah, you read right. I’m backing Nokia on this. Continue reading Nokia and Microsoft
